Wednesday, October 22nd – a Living Rosary. Joined by parents & the Catholic Daughters

Wednesday, October 29th Party with the SUPER SAINTS! (pumpkin carving contest) (Dress as a canonized saint)

Friday, October 31st – Middle school Halloween Dance

November, 2025

Wednesday, November 12th – Baby Shower for the Sunrise Women’s clinic– 6 to 7 p.m. includes all grades.

Wednesday, November 26th – NO CLASS – THANKSGIVING Holiday

Thursday, Nov. 26th– Thanksgiving Day – HAPPY THANKSGIVING! God Bless Everyone!

Sunday, December 7th or 14th - Christmas Caroling Sunday after mass. Whole families are welcome to join.

Wednesday, December 17th - Christmas Party Whole families are welcome to join.

December 3rd - January 8th - Pizza & Braat Sales (take pizza and brat orders.)

Practice for the Epiphany program. TBA

 * St. Matthew's Religious Education program reserves the right to cancel and/or change the dates for classes and/or activities should it become necessary with notice to families via email, website and/or bulletin announcement.  Also, when Sidney Public Schools unexpectedly, cancels or lets school out early, Religious Education classes will be canceled.


Volunteer Ministry Assistance


Our greatest volunteer needs for the 2025-2026 year are: Catechists for Grades 1st, 2nd, 6th, and High School


Faith Formation is an ongoing process involving the entire family. We are always in need of assistance. Please indicate the areas in which you may be able to assist in this ministry. We will be sure to use your talents at the same day and time as your child/children.


  • Full Time Catechist
  • Assistant Catechist 
  • Substitute Catechist
  • Meal/Snack Prep 
  • Hospitality Committee (Set up, serve, cleanup before & after classes & at receptions following Advent Program, Confirmation with First Eucharist & Reconciliation liturgies. )
  • Provide snacks and refreshments for receptions & meetings.
