We’ve completed another fun-filled year of Faith Formation classes at St. Matthew’s Parish. I want to thank all the volunteers of Religious Education for donating their precious time and talents to our youth program.

Opportunities over the summer:
July, 2026
Those interested in taking part in a vacation bible school at St. Matthew's parish the week of July 6th - 10th please contact Mary Quiroz/DRE as soon as possible.
September 2026- April 2027
Please pray for guidance and discern God’s plans for you and where he wants you to serve Him.
Contact Mary if you are interested in volunteering for any of the following areas:
catechists for grades PreK – Kindergarten
1st grade
2nd grade
3rd grade
High School
Teacher’s aides, helpers and substitutes
Cook for the Wednesday evening meal and special events
If you are unsure of your abilities or cannot commit to the full year, consider sharing the task with another individual.
Registration for 2026-27 for Faith Formation Sunday, Augst 23rd from 10:30 – Noon
CLASSES start on Wednesday , September 9th.

Classes start Sept 9th, but it is never too late to join. Feel free to stop by the DRE office during business hours or register here online.

$30.00 - per student ($100.00 maximum per family)

Grades Pre-School -5th 5:15 PM - 6:30 PM
Elementary classes start with music @ 5:15PM in the Parish Center Chapel
with classes to follow.

SACRAMENT CLASSES for students in Grade 3 or higher that have completed at least 1 year of religious education classes prior to the 3rd grade.
Reconciliation Classes start in the Fall please contact Mary Q. if not already registered for the sacrament classes.

* St. Matthew's Religious Education program reserves the right to cancel and/or change the dates for classes and/or activities should it become necessary with notice to families via email, website and/or bulletin announcement. Also, when Sidney Public Schools unexpectedly, cancels or lets school out early, Religious Education classes will be canceled.
Volunteer Ministry Assistance
Faith Formation is an ongoing process involving the entire family and parish. We are always in need of assistance. Please indicate the areas in which you may be able to assist in this ministry. We will be sure to use your talents at the same day and time as your child/children.
- Full Time Catechist
- Assistant Catechist
- Substitute Catechist
- Meal/Snack Prep
- Hospitality Committee (Set up, serve, cleanup before & after classes & at receptions following Advent Program, Confirmation with First Eucharist & Reconciliation liturgies.)
- Provide snacks and refreshments for receptions & meetings.
