January, 2026
Wednesday, January 7th -- Practice for the Epiphany program
Sunday, January 11th –- Children’s program to celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany 10:45 after mass. (moved from Sunday January 4th)
February, 2026
Wednesday, February 11th -- Group Class (On the Mass) in Ned Shinnick Hall
Wednesday, February 18th -- Ash Wednesday Mass @ 6PM (No Classes)
Wednesday, February 25th -- No Classes -- Winter Break
March , 2026
Wednesday, March 18th -- Family Night -- Theme -- Stations of the Cross
(Parents and siblings are invited to join us for family activities, prayer and a meal.)
April, 2026
Wednesday, April 8th -- Family Night -- Theme -- Divine Mercy
(Parents and siblings are invited to join us for family activities, prayer and a meal.)
Sunday, April 26th -- Children's Mass. (The little ones will sing and the older students will do the readings, announcements, greetings, gifts, etc.) Let Mary know if your child cannot attend.
Thursday, April 30 -- Confirmation with First Eucharist, Bishop Emeritus Warfel presiding @ 6PM and reception to follow in Ned Shinnick Hall.
May, 2026
Sunday, May 3rd -- Graduates' Mass
Wednesday, May 13th -- Elementary End of Year Picnic/Party (PreK-5 classes)
End of Year BBQ at Gartside -- Middle School & High School
Sunday, May 17th -- High School Graduation

Elementary classes start with music @ 5:15PM in the Parish Center Chapel
with classes to follow.

* St. Matthew's Religious Education program reserves the right to cancel and/or change the dates for classes and/or activities should it become necessary with notice to families via email, website and/or bulletin announcement. Also, when Sidney Public Schools unexpectedly, cancels or lets school out early, Religious Education classes will be canceled.
Volunteer Ministry Assistance
Faith Formation is an ongoing process involving the entire family and parish. We are always in need of assistance. Please indicate the areas in which you may be able to assist in this ministry. We will be sure to use your talents at the same day and time as your child/children.
- Full Time Catechist
- Assistant Catechist
- Substitute Catechist
- Meal/Snack Prep
- Hospitality Committee (Set up, serve, cleanup before & after classes & at receptions following Advent Program, Confirmation with First Eucharist & Reconciliation liturgies.)
- Provide snacks and refreshments for receptions & meetings.
